Just about three days out of four it has rained this month. Walking across our yard is like walking on a sponge. It normally is damp enough during very dry years to keep the grass green while most other people's yards have turned brown fron lack of moisture. The garden is too wet most of the time to pull weeds. And the veggies are not doing so good, simply too wet. The weeds are doing great! I will have to eat them I guess.
My taters seem to have good growth on the tops. I'm hopin that they will set lots of spuds on their roots. I think there are about 60 hills of taters. Of about 40 late planted hills of taters there are only about 16 hills that came up. Simply too wet!
It is a bit difficult to dry clothing as we have no dryer.

Yeah its been raining a lot here too. I think its April again lol.
I can understand the frustration. We depend on the food farmers plant every year. Hopefully the long run isn't going to be devestating. I'd hate to see a food shortage in USA.

TODAY WE HAVE TO GET OUR VEHICLE INSPECTED. Seems like inspection comes way too often. But years ago it was every six months. Now it is once a year.
Rain again today. Hopefully it wont be a washout for Barb and her guests and especially that youngster who wants to visit a real farm!
Good luck with those projects Barb

Yes, more rain, but now we have sun shine and a rainbow. I don't stay outside long for fear of growing moss around my feet.

We haven't had rain in a couple days now. It looked like it was going to rain the other day, clouds were dark and low, but nothing. They may have skipped us to get you guys. I'm sorry.
It was cold though. I'm back in jeans lol. Two days ago, I wished I had my jacket. It was in the lower 70s and breezy. I had goose bumps lol. Its suppose to warm up today so we'll see. I have a tank top on and I'm not cold so that's a start.

Yeah, its suppose to rain today so had to replace our windshield wipers before it hits. We have 3 of them on our van so it wasn't cheap lol. Paid almost 30 for the set. And they're individually packaged so that's 10 each for a single one! They are going up along with everything else around here!
No wonder people can't make it. I hope the economy picks up soon!

We went to Mansfield, Pennsylvania today to watch the parade. A neighbor girl was on one of the floats as the DAIRY PRINCESS of Tioga County. This particular young lady was the first girl to be born into the faimly in 50 years.. Her grandaddy is about 10 years younger then I am. Her Great Grandaddy is still alive. He is 90 some years old.

That's a big family of boys and men! I bet that little girl is spoiled. I bet in a good way though. Tell her family congrats for me!
There was a parade here on the 3rd, well it was at midnight so maybe it was the 4th lol. I guess they do it every year. We were at the landlords for about an hour so we didn't go. My hubby needed to cool off and listening to the landlord joke about his phone call actually helped.
We had to call the police on our neighbors that night so it was a bad day for us. The neighbors were given an eviction notice so we'll see if they move or not. If they don't we will be, already told the landlord that. He doesn't want us to move because we always pay our rent early and we get along with everyone. Our rent is paid 2 months in advance so if nothing happens, we'll be out before then (September 1).
I will keep you updated on it lol

Well, it continues to rain in Bummy's and my corner of the world. I have rather tall tomato plants but not that many leaves and finally see where tomato's are forming. Last year I had more tomatoes than I could use. I used up all my jars canning and then borrowed some from my mother and canned for my brother and son. I don't think that will happened this year. Peppers are doing very well either.
Yesterday we took a ride up to Elmira, NY to hit the Wegman's store. Being that I'm from a small area, when I need something unusual for the area I need to travel approximately 60 miles. Yesterdays need was Lady Fingers. My GD is coming home from New Orleans next Saturday (8-1) and Tiramisu is her very favorite cake. ( I don't like myself) Since her birthday is the end of August I find it only fitting to have this cake sitting in her mom's refrigerator when she arrives. I could not find Lady Fingers at Wegman's so we headed up the road to Tops (near Sam's Club Bummy). I was in luck, got my Lady Fingers, couple loafs of bread and some muffins. Told my hubby I would be 15 minutes tops and did all this in under ten.
Today taking my little darlings to the groomers. They love riding and their groomer so it's a good day for them and lonely for us without them in the house.

Ok, call me dumb but what are Lady Fingers?
Its been pretty nice here. The day starts out a little chilly but then warms up by noon. Yesterday Indianapolis had some stormy weather but the sun was shining here and no clouds too. I teased a good friend of ours who lives in Indy. It was funny.

I did a google to get the explanation of Lady Fingers, basily a cookie. And if I was really clever, I'd know how to post a picture.
Ladyfingers (called Savoiardi in Italian, meaning "from Savoy"), or in French 'Biscuits à la cuillère,' are a principal ingredient in many French dessert recipes. These cookies are light, crispy and sweet sponge cakes roughly shaped like a large finger. They should not be confused with the Lady's Finger, another name for the vegetable okra.
Today, their most common usage is in trifles, charlottes, and tiramisu. They are typically soaked in a sugar syrup or liqueur, such as coffee for the tiramisu dessert.
In the UK they may also be called sponge-fingers, trifle sponges or boudoir biscuits.

It has been many days since anyone has posted here. Reall not a great deal has taken place except that lu Ann's legs are failing to work properly. She may have to have knee replacements. We will find out next week I guess.
Today a very bad storm came barreling thru. many trees were down and took powerlines down too. Our neighbor was moving cattle to the fairgrounds near Wellsboro when the storm hit. Fair day for judging cattle and sheep is this coming thursday. Storm took down many tents there I guess.
We had little Will today. He was not too worried about the storm. Just mother nature with an upset stomach is how he put it.

Yeah, its been a little quiet around here too. Been working, that's about it. Weather wise, we had a really bad storm a couple days ago. It was done in about ten minutes though. The sun started coming out about half that time. There was hail for a couple minutes, bad wind and a hard pour. Then, was all quiet again.
The tree that hangs over our van has some sagging limbs now and I can actually touch a couple of the leaves so we may need to see if there is a broken branch or not before something comes crashing in on our van. That wouldn't be good.
I hope the legs are the only thing that's bad in your end of the woods. I hope they get better soon.
