[glow=red,2,300][/glow]This old duffer, me, salvage an old horse drawn plow from my barn. The barn had been slowly collapsing for the last two years. Actually for the last 50 years. I tried to save it but it was a lost cause.
There was some old antique farm machinery stored there. My son Billy and I was able to pull a few items out last year. One item was a sulky, two way, horse drawn plow. It was in pretty good shape.
We tried to plow our garden with it but we did not have much luck. I guess mainly because I was not familiar with it. This year I decided to look it over and try to figure out if we can use it. I put the horse tongue back on it and soaked the moving parts with oil to loosen up the levers.
Now Billy has a 4 wheeler. Thought we might be able to pull that plow with his 4 wheeler. and plant a small garden. Our yard is rutted up in places too. So maybe I can scratch it up, smoothen it back into a decent lawn area.
Just for fun I looked information about this plow. Seems to be a John Deere, two way, riding plow. I never saw it being used but our neighbor across the road had one like it or very similar. And I recall him plowing with his plow.
I have a movie of myself as a little boy following my best friend behind a walking plow. I dont recall the incident as I was probably about 7 years old.
