Many folks do not consider their family history as being very important.
The idea that great grandparents or even grandparents have little or nothing to do with what we are today is certainly not true. For one thing look at DNA research? Your best friend just might be your own brother if the family has been torn apart for some reason.
Wouldn't it be nice to know what your ancestors did for a living? They could very well be the founder of an important city somewhere. Wouldn't you feel a sense of pride in knowing your ancestor of a few generations ago had a hand in the very lifestyle that you enjoy today?
My own Grandfather of 4 generations ago was the very first permanent settler of the area where I live. The house that he built still stands this day. My father was born in that house. At first that house was an Inn built for other settlers who were moving westward. I have stories about the man who was my grandfather of 4 generations ago.
I also have a sense or real pride of being the descendant of this important man. His was important enough to be found simply by punching his name in a search blank.
Try looking for your own personal history It may surprise you and you might even find long lost and close relatives of yours

Many of these ancestors have some great stories they like to share with others. Some of these have been handed down to me from my own parents and earlier grandparents. I think far too often people do not understand themselves as well as they should. But if they had a better history of their own families then they might understand why their lives are as they are.
Like my own folks are pretty much easy going. Curious about mechanical things and how they work. And so am I.
Some folks are into music. My brother is that way. When he was a kid during the 1940's he played the record player and there were many big band musical programs being broadcast on the radio. Music seem to be a great baby sitter for him.
