I have just come from another of your sites Amber. The story you were asked to write with all of those photos or pictures would have been a tremendously hard job. It would take YEARS at best to put it together.
I have no doubt that you could do a great job. You did mention some possible downsides to accepting that job. It is certainly not my place to do more then offer an opinion.
DONT DO IT! You can do much better!

Oh, he was already turned down. After seeing his pictures, I knew there was more than he was letting on. That was when I asked him how many of his pictures he was using in the book. When he told me he wanted to use as many as he could, I about flipped. He was acting like he already had a shoe in.
There is a saying. To jump over the horse to the cart, or whatever it is and I think that's what he did. I mean he was already talking to someone about making it a movie. How was the movie people suppose to know if the book would be any good? Because he said so? He wasn't even the one writing the book lol.
I know I can write, sometimes good and sometimes not so good. It happens to every writer. I'm sure to photographers too. His pictures left nothing to the imagination and that's what I'm about. That's what most writers are about. If we can paint the picture enough the reader to vividly see the world in their own minds, we failed. Its a big responsibility. To use 1500 or so pictures to make sure they see what we want them to see isn't fair to those readers.
When we create our story, we're making a promise to them when they open that cover and read the first page. We (as authors) are telling them that they will enjoy this story. Sometimes, our promise doesn't hold water, sometimes it does. I can only hope I satisfy more than I disappoint and the same probably goes for everyone else out there writing.
It felt right to turn the guy down and I haven't regretted it.
