I was first published by Jennifer and MMP but before I ever received any royalties, she had shut down the website and not paid any of the authors since the third quarter in 2008.
Just a warning to those who might hear from a new publishing house, beware if the the owner or editor is Jennifer Mitchell

Hello Deanna. A few months ago An incident happened to me. I like to tell stories, (About my life on the farm as posted on this site),
I only wanted to share them with readers on the internet.
Several folks enjoyed reading them and they said so. One day I was told that my short stories were being gathered together and moved to a new site. Needless to say I was a little aggraveted. I was asked to join this new site and it seemed to be an up and coming site. But then it closed down with no explanation. A few weeks later it opened up again and I was asked to be a member once again. A special thread had been created for my stories. (Keep in mind that the stories were only like a first draft, no real work was done on smoothing the rough edges at all.)
The plans were, (not my plans,) to make a collection, or anthology, and then the person would go thru and make spelling and punctuation corrections and make ready for publication thru some publishing house. I began to get a litte suspicious and asked a few questions. My questions were not answered satisfactorily. Some were not answered at all!
At the same time I brought in a few new members to her site. I discovered that some porn people were scamming that site and I made that fact known to the owner. She put them out by banning them. More and more of them appeared.
The next thing I knew, I was banned from her site too. Later on I discovered that her son was the owner of the publishing house. Needless to say I protested by email to her and expressed my thought of why I was being banned. Of course she denied it and said I was reinstated. In fact she practically begged me to rejoin her site. There were simply too many red flags that had been raised and I told her NO!

I'm sorry for your situation Deanna. I hope things get better for you and you're able to republish your story with someone who will appreciate your hard work!

In fact Amber I suggested this particular place to you just before all this took place. I think that you did join.
And to be perfectly honest with you, my opinion has not changed as I continue to read postings made by the person we are talking about at other places. If anything, I am even more sure then ever that was the intention.
What do you think about putting in a catagory entitled William's Ramblings? What I had in mind was just interesting things that come to mind as I was growing up.
